The Biomedical Program at Vanderbilt University prepares students to apply engineering concepts to scientific and practical problems in bio-logy, medicine, and health care. Please read our Mission/ Objectives and Outcomes pages.  Admissions information is available here.

The undergraduate curriculum can serve as a pre-medical program, as preparation for graduate school and as preparation for careers in biomedical engineering and related health fields. Double-major programs with electrical engineering and with chemical engineering are available. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, and students receive the Bachelor of Engineering degree. There are several opportunities for summer research or internships available through the department also. (Username = vanderbilt\VUnetID, PW = epassword).

The graduate program prepares students for research and advanced practice in biomedical engineering. The department offers courses of study leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The department collaborates with the School of Medicine in the M.D./Ph.D. program (Medical Scientist Training Program). Vanderbilt University administers a training grant from the National Institutes of Health that provides financial support for pre-doctoral students in medical imaging (Dr. Gore).

The BME Seminar series dates and times can be found on this page.
