TENURE / TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION in BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING DESIGN / INSTRUMENTATION  [download document]

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University (VUBME) invites applications for rank-open, tenured/tenure-track appointment faculty position in the area of biomedical engineering design. This initiative is part of exciting new opportunities at VUBME, which include a major expansion of its faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. Interviews for the initial three positions will begin by 01 November, 2009. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

We seek to recruit an outstanding faculty member with a primary focus on reinventing and teaching biomedical engineering design. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in biomedical design/instrumentation are particularly encouraged to apply, especially those with research applications in neural engineering, therapeutic engineering, and personalized medicine. VUBME research has core strengths in the areas of biophotonics, nanobiotechnology / bio-materials, clinical translation, and image-based technologies. Our growth will continue to build on strong collaborative research with Vanderbilt medical, engineering and science faculty. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in an engineering or scientific discipline appropriate for a faculty position in BME.

This initiative is part of exciting new opportunities at VUBME, which include a major expansion of its faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. Interviews for this position will begin 01 November 2009. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

We seek to recruit an outstanding faculty member with a primary focus on reinventing and teaching biomedical engineering design. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in biomedical design/instrumentation are particularly encouraged to apply, especially those with research applications in neural engineering, therapeutic engineering, and personalized medicine. VUBME research has core strengths in the areas of biophotonics, nanobiotechnology / biomaterials, clinical translation, and image-based technologies. Our growth will continue to build on strong collaborative research with Vanderbilt medical, engineering and science faculty. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in an engineering discipline or a M.S. degree with substantial teaching or industrial experience. Professional licensure is desirable. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
