BME
240 Senior Research
and BME 241 Undergraduate Projects
in BME Education
Course descriptions:
BME 240
is the senior research course and is intended to foster an ability to
conduct research through actual laboratory experience with an experienced
mentor. The course is for independent research, not independent study.
The research shall be either experimental or theoretical in nature or
a combination of both. It must be conducted under the supervision of a
BME faculty member or another faculty member approved by the course director.
Students identify their own mentor and project as suits their individual
interests.
BME 241
is for an independent project, either developmental, experimental, or
otherwise investigational in nature that explores a selected topic in
bioengineering education. This course is not for independent study (i.e.,
not solely for the student's own education). The project is to be conducted
under the supervision of a biomedical engineering faculty member or another
faculty member approved by the course director. Students are encouraged
to identify their own mentor and project as suits their individual interests.
Assistance in doing so is available from the course director and from
VaNTH ERC faculty.
